We have a newly structured role for an experienced Operations Manager to come and join a stable, long term contract where you can make a difference working at the Resource Recovery Park. The RRP provides a valuable service to the Selwyn community and with new developments underway within the park it is an exciting time to join our team.

The highest priority for this role will be to effectively coordinate resources in response to operational needs while driving safety and compliance. You will take ownership of all relevant operations ensuring that works are delivered safely and successfully by creating a team oriented and collaborative work environment with a quality and cost-effective service being delivered to our clients.

If you consider yourself to be an all-rounder who can deal with challenging opportunities, and you have the confidence to lead a team to deliver day to day and long term goals within the RRP, then this is an excellent opportunity to be involved with an industry leader.


What you’ll bring | Ko ngā pukenga ōu

This role requires someone with extensive experience in the waste industry or similar, proficiency in commercial contracts, and ideally, you will hold a relevant industry qualification. You will have proven experience developing and implementing effective workforce planning strategies to align staffing needs with business goals.

You will be a natural leader who can support, coach, and mentor a team of dedicated professionals so that they, and their teams work to a high standard and deliver those standards consistently. As you will work closely with third parties, including the Selwyn District Council, your ability to build strong and trusting relationships will be critical to your success.

Your expertise in developing and implementing resource strategies, along with your ability to forecast future needs will be crucial in optimising our processes. With a strong attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach, you will help maintain our high standards of quality and efficiency.
