We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Retail Assistant to join our team at the newly established reuse shop at the Pines Resource Recovery Park in Rolleston. As a key player in this exciting new community venture, you will have the chance to take charge of your role and play a significant part in setting up and shaping the store from the ground up.

Key responsibilities of this role include sorting and preparing donated goods, maintaining a visually appealing store, and keeping the recycling and receiving areas tidy. You will engage with donors to ensure they feel appreciated and use your judgment to accept or reject donations based on their value and condition. Additionally, you will be responsible for cleaning and performing minor repairs on received goods to prepare them for sale.

What you’ll bring | Ko ngā pukenga ōu

  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence (essential)
  • Ability to work on a rotating roster which includes weekend work (essential)
  • Experience with EFTPOS and cash handling procedures
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • A keen eye for detail and quality when sorting and preparing items
  • Prior experience in retail or merchandising
  • Health and safety conscious with a positive attitude
  • Able to work as part of a team and to deadlines
