The work we do strengthens the communities we work and play in, with several key long term maintenance contracts throughout the Canterbury region and a number of civil projects currently being completed throughout the South Island.

About the role | Ko te kaupapa

Come and join a stable, long term contract where you can make a difference working within the new reuse shop at the Pines Resource Recovery Park!

We are looking for someone to come and fill this key new role overseeing the reuse services at the Rolleston site. This is a brand new community asset that needs someone who can bring their skills and experience to help establish it. In order to do this you will be working alongside our client, the Selwyn District Council, who will also be involved in the selection process.

A day in your life could be anything from ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the reuse shop and yard, dealing with customer queries, supervising and training staff, organising rosters, or maintaining accurate sales records – this and more!

This role enables you to have a high level of ownership, and job satisfaction and to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the reuse shop. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of the recycling industry’s best practices and environmental regulations are an absolute must.

  • Qualification or equivalent experience in Environmental Science, Business Management, Sales, or related field
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proven experience in reuse operations or waste management
  • Physically fit and self-motivated
  • Health and Safety conscious with a positive attitude
