About the role | Ko te kaupapa

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Board Secretary / Executive Assistant to support our CEO and CFO, manage governance and Board operations, and coordinate key leadership activities. This pivotal role sits at the heart of CORDE’s executive function, ensuring seamless communication, regulatory compliance, and effective stakeholder engagement.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Coordinating all aspects of Board and Committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, minute-taking, and tracking action items.
  • Providing confidential and strategic support to the CEO and CFO, including diary and travel management, reporting, briefing preparation, and event coordination.
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team through efficient meeting management and governance-related administration.
  • Maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory governance frameworks.
  • Serving as the central point of contact between the Board, executive leadership, and key stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional communication at all times.

What you’ll bring | Ko ngā pukenga ōu

To thrive in this role, you’ll need experience, professionalism, and the ability to work confidently in a dynamic environment. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a board secretariat,  governance-related, or senior executive support role
  • A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Law, Governance, or a related field is preferred
  • Professional certification in company secretarial practice (e.g., CGI, GIA, ICSA) will be highly regarded
  • A sound understanding of governance best practices, statutory compliance, and the ability to work with legal and regulatory bodies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of discretion and professionalism
  • Proven ability to manage complex schedules, competing priorities, and confidential information with confidence and accuracy
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and ideally experience with board management systems (e.g., Diligent Boards)
