About the Role | Mō te tūnga
We’re on the lookout for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a background in potable water infrastructure to join our high-performing Canterbury-based team.
You’ll lead the delivery of critical water infrastructure projects from concept to completion, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
This role includes managing a team of project engineers and site supervisors, overseeing the delivery of drinking water renewals, treatment plant upgrades, township supply networks, and more.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Full project lifecycle delivery from scope development to commissioning
- Leading and mentoring a capable, multi-disciplinary team
- Managing budgets, timelines, resources, and subcontractor performance
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Building trusted relationships with clients, consultants, and community stakeholders
What You’ll Bring | Ko ngā pūkenga ōu
We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager with a solid history of delivering water infrastructure projects. While a tertiary qualification in civil engineering or a related field is an advantage, it’s your hands-on experience and results that matter most to us.
You’ll stand out if you:
- Have at least 10 years’ experience in the civil construction sector, particularly in potable water infrastructure
- Know how to lead teams and manage subcontractors across multiple active worksites
- Bring firsthand knowledge of drinking water systems, including renewals and treatment plant upgrades
- Understand regulatory requirements and local authority processes
- Stay calm under pressure, solve problems quickly, and lead with purpose
- Build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
