We are on the lookout for experienced Project Engineers to join our civil construction team based in Rolleston. With a strong pipeline of projects across Canterbury, this is your chance to take on diverse and rewarding work in a company that values innovation, teamwork, and professional growth.

In this role, you’ll lead and manage projects, either independently or under the guidance of a Project Manager, depending on the scale. Your focus will be on delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, all while upholding our high-quality standards. Success in these roles requires adaptability, problem-solving, and teamwork. You’ll play a key role in creating a positive and efficient work environment while ensuring smooth project execution in a fast-moving construction space.

We are looking for engineers with proven experience in one or more of the following areas:

Water Infrastructure – From upgrading treatment plants to delivering town supply renewals, you’ll help build resilient, future-ready water networks.

Structures – Whether it’s bridges, retaining walls, or public infrastructure like pump stations or rail work, you’ll manage the delivery of structural works on site.

Wastewater Treatment Plants – Experience in the construction or upgrade of wastewater treatment facilities is highly valued.


What you’ll bring | Ko ngā pukenga ōu

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Project Engineer role
  • A tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong understanding of construction standards, regulations, and best practices
  • A proven track record in managing and delivering successful projects
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, working closely with clients, subcontractors, and team members
  • Exposure to financial management, including estimating, cost management, and variations
  • Understanding of the cost-to-complete or cost review processes
  • Tendering experience or involvement in the bidding process is an advantage
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
  • The ability to think ahead, solve problems, and drive efficiency
