We’re seeking an experienced Drainlayer to join our Rolleston based team working across a range of residential, commercial, and three waters projects throughout Canterbury.

About the role | Ko te kaupapa
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience across all aspects of drainage work, including trench excavation, shield installation, and pipelaying. You will be skilled in the use of small and large plant, hand tools, and all associated tasks.

Applicants who are CCC Authorised, NZ Registered, and can demonstrate extensive knowledge of dewatering through their employment history will be looked at favourably. If you are not NZ PGDB Registered but keen to grow, training opportunities can be offered to the right candidates.

What you’ll bring | Ko ngā pukenga ōu

  • Full Class 2 Driver Licence with WTR endorsement
  • Proven drainage experience in Civil Construction
  • Experience installing concrete and PVC pipelines, constructing manholes, sumps, and associated drainage structures
  • Experience operating 3 to 20 tonne excavators
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, service plans, and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of safe excavation practices and working around live services, including water, wastewater, stormwater, gas, power, and communications
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
