Our close association with Ngāi Tahu over the past ten years at Te Whāriki has been an amazing relationship that we are truly proud of. Te Whāriki is one of the largest subdivisions in Christchurch. It has brought many interesting design and delivery challenges, allowing us to bring our expertise & experience to help ensure a hugely successful outcome for the community and all stakeholders.

The scope of the project included the following

90,000 m3 of GPS controlled bulk earthworks often below the water table.

45,000m2 of road pavement & surfacing construction to NZTA & CCC specifications.

13,500 m2 of footpath construction.

Working with sensitive live waterways.

Installation of 9 km of Orion services, ducting, street lighting, fibre optic cable & signage.

CORDE self-performed the QA & all survey controls on this site.

Our services provided have included all bulk earthworks, sewer and storm water drainage, water reticulation and essential services, roading formation, landscaping, berms and footpaths as well as the formation of large-scale storm water retention systems.

Construction began late in 2012 and continues as the development nears completion.
